upon his release from detention, the vice president of the Gambia Press Union has said that he wasn’t told what was the reason behind his arrest, other than “you are being investigated”.
Mr. Baboucarr Ceesay said he spent three nights in a cell at the agency when he arrived there last Friday. “I was detained in this cell until Monday, when I was brought out to face a panel of three senior gents,” he told Gambia Beat.
he aid he was invited by a Sukuta Jammeh, informing him that he was under investigation and should cooperate with them. “They didn’t disclose what they were investigating for. after taking my background information, I was released on bail by 6pm. However, they have taken my passport as a bail bond,” he said.
